Homosexualism in India - Their mode of life....

Section 377 of Indian penal code has given legal rights to homosexuals, we all are quite familiar about it. I had an interaction with a bunch of my homosexual friends regarding many issues homosexuals face in the society. There were some remarkable issues that came into picture....

Well, the first question that I asked them was how did they come to know regarding their sexuality.... A stunning fact that majority of them shared was they were directly or indirectly abused or used as a media for pleasure when they were children... Child abusement and harassment was the basic issue that was shared by them, mainly from their own male family members, for their short term pleasure.... Some of them agreed that they were homosexuals coz they were exposed to such nuisance environment from the childhood, thereby leaving a greater impression on their mind regarding the choice of the partner.... (After all, all children are equal, and the way you mould them depicts their character and way of living.. is the simple funda..that is assumed...) while, some of them believe that homosexuality cannot come through incidents but it is a natural phenomenon... which couldnt be avaoided......

When I asked what sort of problems they face in the society, I got a mixed response... I was happy to see that some of my friends were out to their parents, and their parents had accepted them gladly... allowing their rights to live the life they want..... Majority of parents are not yet able to understand this issue, and the social status comes into picture. Some of them are bisexuals.... Bisexuals lead their life in still a pathetic manner.... They are married to a woman, they undoubtedly satisfy their wives, but well they too need satisfaction, physical as well as mental for themselves, so they continue seeking guys... Some guys are transexuals and transgenders, making them difficult to express the way they are in the society, coz society mocks at them... and that society comprises of educated people like you and me too..

The worst part that I heard from them was the way of living... They are leading two different lives: a real one, and a hidden virtual life, and it becomes really tough for them to lead an extra life. They are deprived of expressing their feelings coz again people like you and me come into picture, standing on them, mocking at them.... and dominating them as minors...

Final comment that i heard from one of them was, "As society has made rules to get married, it would be better for us, if we could marry a homosexual partner.... may be a lesbian or a gay. Atleast, we both would be respecting our feelings, our lives and our rights, coz we know what being a homosexual is... Its not just about being change in physical relation, but it has lot to do with psychological and mental process...."

With that final comment, we departed...
I hope to develop still a rational approach towards homosexuals living in our society... Let us accept them the way they are, and respect their rights.... coz' its not the way they have chosen, its the way that was incorporated since they were born...
